Over the years my interest in art has always been a motivation in my choice of styles and materials and this collection “Claudelle Spring /Summer 22 “, is inspired by the impressionist era specifically by the French artist, Claude Monet.
Much of Monet’s inspiration comes from his garden in Giverny where he learnt to love nature and colour. He depicts beautiful flowers in vivid colour, texture and form. He often includes feminine women of the time having picnics or strolling with a parasol.
The styles of this collection are simple, free flowing and soft with an element of elegance and sophistication. Colours and textures that have been carefully chosen draw attention to these elements - raised fibres, soft prints and a combination of vivid and feathered colours all complement the extraordinary ethical craftsmanship of our makers.
One of Monet’s famous quotes that resonates with Ricepaper is:
“ Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand,
as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply
necessary to love”
Ricepaper hopes you too will cherish and love our garments and this collection!
